Hello Dear Friends!
Feeling gratitude for rain - - Not the howling, frightening deluge kind, but the meandering falling of water over the course of an entire day kind.1
Soft light and layers.
Last week’s mist turns to rain - - There’s clarity in that.
We all get wet.2
Staying grounded with bare feet.3
Keeping it real with Lilly.4
As always, thank you for sharing your time and this space with me.
With gratitude for you being you,
Lyn
Hurricane Helene is currently slamming into the Gulf Coast and moving inland…it’s a huge and deadly storm. These kinds of storms are not at all friendly. The rain we’ve had today in Vermont and New Hampshire is that luscious all-day fall event that ensures walks in the woods are filled with the pungent smell of rotting leaves. My kind of bliss.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what have in common - - whether plant, animal or inanimate structure, we all get wet. There’s comfort in that kind of shared experience. Hoping we can practice finding those things we have in common, instead of finding ways to divide.
Some weeks are quieter than others - - No grand statements or deep insights, other than loving the cool rain on my toes and the glow of wet leaves. These are life’s micro-moments that take my breath away.
Someday I’ll write a full post about my relationship with Lilly. It’s complicated. She’s four, but acts like a puppy. High energy hunting dog who doesn’t hunt. This week she and Calvin, our 15 year old pup, are at the kennel - - they don’t allow dogs in the place we’re renting. I miss Lilly’s company on walks and am glad that next week we’ll be together again back in Maine.
