There are days when the elements colludeā¦
It rains. Snow melts. Puddles form. Air freezesā¦
and they dance with dried grass, forming positive and negative spaces.
Air pockets form baubles surrounded by textured frost which, in thirty minutes time, disappears. Translucent, the baubles speak until the sunās fire melts it all.
And the next day, they are gone, replaced by bubbles of a different kind in a different place. Poor Lilly waits patiently while I document these wonders.
And at the riverās edge, water, frozen and suspended,
bounded by rocks and pockets of airā¦
bind me to them.
Entranced, my internal fire alights,
grateful for the elements colliding - - complex, yet simple too.1
Ineffable.2
As always, thank you for sharing your time and this space with me.
With gratitude for you being you,
Lyn

And then, as if earthās creative capacities werenāt joyful enough, this delightful dog and this stunning ice covered red twig presented themselves. Wow.
Anything make you say āwowā recently?
In The Kinship Photography Collective, we are just beginning a year-long investigation of the elements - - starting with air, then moving on to fire, water and finally the earth. Based on the Elementals series by the Center for Humans & Nature, kinship invites curiosity about what it means to live in relationship with the elements and how photography can offer a portal to understanding. Iāve been involved with organizing this āCallā and already find myself seeing in new ways. Stay tuned for more next week!
A colleague in my Re-Imagining Loss & Grief practice group from last yearās Between Bodies kinship ācall,ā introduced me to the word ineffable - - too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words. It works.
Lyn!! I'm enthralled. I LOVE these ice images. You know they speak to me, especially when I see how they hug those rocks and insist on companionship. Absolutely wonderful. And I agree with Anne (below): these are definitely some of my favorites of yours to date.
These are mind-blowingly stupendous photos. They are perhaps my favorites of yours.
