In Flux
double exposures, dichotomies and joy
Hello from the land of reflections and ripples,
where water is still and in motion,
and blues are intense.
September’s fiery light transforms,
and a leaf re-frames the forest above and below.

My body adjusts.
How to make sense of it all - - the heat and the cold, the tempest ‘out there’ and the calm right here, in the presence of a rock, tree or leaf?
I am double-exposed.

Layers, abstracted, reflect flux1 and offer calm, a remembrance that with time, something else will emerge - -Snow will fly in the North; Warmth will return in the South.
But will it rain where it is dry?
Will waters slow their flow where there is too much?
Anticipation…and relief. Awe…and gratitude.
A primal connection to air, light and water…
And a joyful celebration.
Awe and joy penetrate my being.
This is not a momentary flourish.2
How can I not feel hope and envision the possible?
I refuse to capitulate and let other forces consume.
Like Lilly showing up with her stick and asking for more fetch, I persist…showing up for all that is good and beautiful out there, within me, and within each one of us. That is what 13 Tons of Love is all about.
Bring it on! Let the fall begin.
As always, thank you for sharing your time and this space with Lilly and me.
With cheers and gratitude for you being you,
Lyn

PS - - Have you noticed the wonders of Sedum Autumn Joy? If you plant it, they will come.
What is bringing you joy today? Let’s spread some positive energy!
The noun, flux, means a flowing of fluid from the body, a continuous moving on or passing by (as a stream) and also the rate of transfer of particles or fluids or energy across a given surface (thank you Merriam Webster).
A “state of flux” or to be “in flux” is something that is constantly changing, unstable or uncertain.
In The Kinship Photography Collective we have been exploring the elements - - We started by exploring Air at the spring equinox, moved on to Fire at the summer solstice, and are now, at the Fall equinox, are shifting to water.
These planetary moments offer deeply personal reflection that some feel from within.

Beautiful is too simple a word for these photos and accompanying words. Gorgeous doesn't work either...sublime.
Really lovely, Lyn. Your offerings of beauty just dropped in my in-box as I was surfing the dire offerings of the day. Thank you!
